Vintage handwoven Red Ulos Batak
Sadum decorative textile from the Lake Toba region of North Sumatra.
This is a vintage ulos, handwoven using a back-strap loom and the yarns were dyed using synthetic dyes. The patterning is truly magnificent, with a variety of tapestry designs.
This ulos is woven highly intricately with a very complex style of weaving.
The colour is incredibly vibrant and breathtaking. It has a good weight and drapes really well as a wall hanging.
