Here is a vintage Gillette Diplomat TTO (twist to open) double-edged safety razor with gold plating. Its overall length is 3-1/2". The date code is A2, which means it was manufactured in the second quarter of 1955.

This razor is in good working condition and looks extremely nice. There are light scratches on the head (see photo). The blade compartment doors open easily and close tightly.
