For the volleyball aficionado, this is a truly sweet ball.
In the ‘90’s and early 2000s, AVP outdoor tournament balls were leather. They were really nice to play with (nicer than at present’s composites), but they had one drawback—they got heavy in the rain.
Spalding created a leather treatment called “Pittards” that was much more weather resistant. The highest quality was the “Gold” ball.
This is that ball.
