The extremely in-demand Genovese Nero AF fig is a dark purple fig with a berry flavor. The AF in the name stands for Adriano Ferreira, the Canadian fig grower who introduced the variety to North America. Known by many to be similar to I-258.

Origin: Originally from Genoa, Italy.
Skin: Deep black or purple.
Flesh: Bright red.
Taste: Moderately sweet berry flavor when unripe, sweeter and syrupy when fully ripe.
Texture: Chewy, with a thicker skin and no seed crunch.
Tree: Vigorous grower.
Hardiness: Hardy in cold climates.
