UB Impulse XXIII Event Highlights Digital Public Services and Proactivity

As part of Public Administration Week, running from 14-21 October 2024, the Department of Public Administration at the National University of Mongolia hosted UB Impulse XXIII on 17 October. This event, focused on “Digital Public Services and Proactivity,” brought together leading experts and scholars for a public lecture and discussion on the future of public service delivery in a digital age.

The keynote speaker, Prof. Dr. Hendrik Scholta from the German University of Administrative Sciences Speyer, shared his insights on how can digital public services be realised and the different types of proactive services. His presentation sparked an engaging discussion on the potential of digital governance to improve efficiency and responsiveness in the public sector.

The event began with opening remarks by Prof. Dr. S. Gombobaatar, Vice President for Research and Cooperation at the National University of Mongolia. A dynamic discussion followed Prof. Scholta’s lecture, moderated by Prof. Dr. N. Burmaa, where attendees had the opportunity to engage with the keynote speaker and delve deeper into the topics presented.

Closing remarks were delivered by Prof. Dr. S. Munkhbat, Dean of the School of Political Science, International Relations, and Public Administration, who emphasized the significance of UB Impulse in fostering a dialogue between academic research and practical public policy solutions.

UB Impulse XXIII was a key event during Public Administration Week, an annual initiative aimed at promoting dialogue on the evolving role of public administration in Mongolia. The public lecture attracted the participation of over 140 representatives, comprising professors, lecturers, researchers, civil servants, graduate students, and undergraduates from various esteemed institutions, including SPSIRPA, NUM; Ministry of Justice and Home Affairs of Mongolia; SME Agency of Mongolia; Mongolian University of Science and Technology; Governor’s Administration Office of the Parliament of Mongolia; Cabinet Secretariat of Government of Mongolia; Ministry of Finance; Ministry of Family, Labour and Social Protection; Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Light Industry; The Anti-Corruption Agency; General Department of Social Insurance; University of Internal Affairs; Mongolian Civil Service Council; Citizen Representative Khural of Tuv, Bulgan, and Selenge provinces; Governor’s Administration Office of Bulgan province; and Governor’s Office of Tuv province.
